To help ensure the safety and well-being of our WCSD scholars, District Prevention Recovery Coordinators Dr. Robin Stepps and Ms. Lavorges Canada, through the Arkansas Opioid Recovery Partnership, distributed Naloxone to all district nurses and principals.

Naloxone is a life-saving medication designed to rapidly reverse the effects of an opioid overdose during an emergency.

We extend our appreciation to our district partner, Exodus.Life, for providing the Naloxone for distribution and supporting our continued efforts to keep students and staff safe.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: EARLY DISMISSAL FOR WCHS & WCJHS

Watson Chapel School District Families and Community,

Approximately 11:40 a.m., the district administration of Watson Chapel School District (WCSD) was made aware of an unexpected, hazardous power utility pole that needs immediate attention.

Due to an emergency utility power pole being replaced and creating this hazardous condition, Watson Chapel High School (WCHS) and Watson Chapel Junior High School (WCJHS) will dismiss early today at 1:30 p.m. This decision is being made out of an abundance of caution and to ensure the safety of our students and staff. Both schools will follow the normal dismissal operations.

All elementary schools are not affected and will continue to operate on their normal schedules.

Additionally, tonight’s football game against Jacksonville High School will continue as scheduled.

We appreciate the patience, understanding, and cooperation of our families as we respond to this unexpected situation. The safety of our students and staff remains our highest priority.

Edgewood Elementary ATLAS Screener Begins Next Week! 📚

Edgewood families, the ATLAS Screener will begin next week. This short assessment will be given one time this school year to help teachers better understand what our scholars already know, what they are ready to learn, and how we can best support their growth.

The ATLAS Screener is not a pass-or-fail test. It is simply a tool to help our teachers plan instruction and meet the needs of every scholar.

Attendance and punctuality are especially important during the screening period. Screeners are given in the morning, so scholars should arrive on time by 7:45 a.m.

Thank you for partnering with us to give our scholars the best start possible this school year! 💛🖤

On time. Every day. Ready to R.O.A.R.!
